Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme to enhance education, training, youth, and sport throughout Europe. Its budget is expected to be €26.2 billion. When compared to its previous programme, this is approximately double the investment (2014-2020).

The 2021-2027 programme prioritises social inclusion, green and digital transformations, and encouraging young people to participate in democratic life.

It supports the European Education Area's aims and actions, as well as the Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. In addition, the programme

The Programme promotes activities, collaboration, and instruments that are congruent with the goals of the European Strategy and its flagship projects, such as Youth on the Move and the Agenda for New Skills and Jobs. Through the Open Methods of coordination, the Programme also helps to realise the goals of the Education and Training Strategic Framework for European Cooperation in Education and Training and the European Youth Strategy.

Individuals, institutions, organisations, and society as a whole will gain from this investment in knowledge, skills, and competencies by contributing to growth and guaranteeing fairness, prosperity, and social inclusion in Europe and beyond. At the University of Duhok we have been activity involved in various ERASMUS+ programs and projects with European universities partners.
